Working with a talented team of riggers at Rigbox, (Vincent Bayoux & Dao Nguyen ), we developed the character rigs for Butterfly Tale.
The project involved a wide range of rigging challenges, from a custom feather system for the birds to an intricate wing setup for the butterflies. We also built rigs for quadruped and multi-legged characters, each requiring its own approach to achieve the right balance of flexibility and control.
The animation team was able to work with a high level of control throughout the production, while keeping the rigs practical and efficient for the project’s production constraints.
Story
Butterfly Tale is an animated feature film for the whole family, set against the diverse and ever-changing backdrop of the great Monarch butterfly migration.
It is a story of adventure, self-realization, and heroism, told with humour and built around a simple message: our differences matter less than the bonds we share, and it is through adversity that our true character shines.
